Diabetes, the 9th leading cause of death globally and a significant co-morbidity to cardiac-related deaths, poses a major health concern. In the UK alone, over 4 million individuals diagnosed with diabetes face a staggering 23-fold increased risk of developing diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs). Alarmingly, 10% of these DFUs lead to foot amputations, with a mortality rate of 50% within two years. Globally, there are over 450 million diabetics, projected to grow to 578 million by 2030\. To address this urgent issue, Medical Intelligence Group (MIG) offers an innovative three-pillar solution that utilises novel digital and data-enabled tools to more accurately diagnose conditions, stratify patients to appropriate treatments, and increase the application of integrated and multi-modal approaches to determine risk, diagnosis, and predict prognostic outcomes. MIG's solution includes remote monitoring technology, early ulcer detection systems, and AI predictive modelling. By improving ulcer monitoring and enabling timely treatments, MIG's solution significantly improves patient outcomes, relieves stress, and generates cost savings for the NHS. Additionally, the early detection of deteriorating ulcers reduces the need for amputations, benefiting patients both socially and economically. MIG's innovative approach fills an unmet clinical need and addresses the pressing challenge of diabetic foot ulcers. By leveraging novel digital tools, MIG aims to make substantial progress in combating this condition, improving patient well-being, and alleviating the healthcare burden.
