7 Upholstery Ltd was absolutely wonderful to work with! They were extremely professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a pro for their next project.What a service. Michael Bessell who runs the business is a treasure. We had a very tired 1930s bottle green velvet 2-seater sofa and 2 matching armchairs. No-one would touch them. we have had these seats for more than 15 years, hoping that, one day, someone would agree to restore them to their glory.Michael waited patiently for about 6 months whilst we whittled down fabrics to a shortlist of two grey velvets (one blue-ish and one brown-ish). His choice of fabrics is really top notch and his knowledge of dyeing and fabrication technique, helped us find something in keeping with the style of the seats. It was also fun visiting his store where he had work for well known artists and celebrities, as well as mere mortals, such as ourselves. Having arrived at a shortlist, we then lived with two large scale samples ( organised by Michael) for a few weeks before selecting the blue-ish fabric. The recovering and renovation process took exactly 3 weeks as promised and the seats are better than any modern sofa and chairs, being properly sprung and hand finished, the latter not a straightforward process, given their fluted backs. The collection and delivery service was exemplary and hassle free. We are thrilled with the results and they look really good in our newly-renovated flat. A number of friends and family have said they thought we were crazy to try to rescue them. Now, they can see their true beauty and agree we would have been crazy not to save them. Thanks, Michael!
