Bumblebee Power develops wireless charging technology.
: Bumblebee Power, an Imperial College spinout, is commercialising the high frequency inductive wireless power technology that has been developed at Imperial over the last decade. The company focus is on two areas: micro e-mobility and automation, including drones. Work developed on the SITS project is contributing knowledge and knowhow to the automation strand of Bumblebee. The company raised £750k seed investment in November 2021.
Bumblebee Power has, to date, announced a cooperation with Voi (rental scooters) to investigate the use of wireless charging for the scooters on the streets. They are also in discussions with several designers/users of automation. All the employees in the company but one are technical (scientific / engineering).
Advance to current charging technology
