Company description
BKwai develops software that uses AI to analyse and monitor construction projects from large-scale datasets.
BKwai was created to develop software platforms to handle and to fuse sensor, satellite and environmental data. The is done with the aim of deriving insights to support civil engineers and construction companies make smarter, safer decisions. The software platform was designed to support construction site teams and asset owners better interpret large volumes of sensor data, and also incorporates new and emerging data sets, such as satellite radar used to monitor millimetre-scale displacements over wide geographical areas. The platform also aims to make use of data science techniques to allow users to interrogate data and create adaptive thresholds for identifying anomalous behaviour.
Project impact
BKwai is currently installed in a number of construction sites and supports construction site teams and asset owners better interpret large volumes of sensor data, and also incorporates new and emerging data sets, such as satellite radar used to monitor millimetre-scale displacements over wide geographical areas.

BKWai- turning big data into advanced engineering intelligence
1 Jun 2022 to 31 Aug 2023
Asset monitoring is increasingly based on real-world data, helping to make assets safer and optimise their performance. The Queensferry Crossing bridge, for example, uses data from over 1,000 sensors to monitor weather and motion in real time and identify performance issues before they become problems. A data-driven built environment whilst delivering sig...
