Building on PhD research outcomes of Dr Phil Wu, Absolar was founded in 2020 with the mission to address the ever-increasing challenges of the climate crisis. Since its launch, Absolar has received a wide range of support including the University of Southampton and the Royal Academy of Engineering. In 2020, the Royal Academy of Engineering's Enterprise Fellowship provided £60,000 equity-free funding, a tailored training programme and mentors to support Absolar's early stage development. Using AI and GIS technologies, Absolar is able to evaluate the feasibility of buildings in adopting solar panels at the highest accuracy.
