Project impact

Additive metal printing is crucial in the production of complex multicomponent electronic devices. Current methods of metal printing often fail to meet manufacturing demands such as production speed and cost, or technical demands such as metal adherence and conduction. The solution we have developed is a single step, contactless metal printing capability offering adherent, highly conducting metal layers on virtually any substrate. Our goal is to deliver the next generation metal printing process aimed at satisfying the needs of printed electronics and additive manufacturing, through building a valuable spin out company Terrella Innovations Ltd. Through extensive EPSRC funded research we have developed and patented, through UCLB, a new form of non-contact printing using atmospheric pressure plasma jet (APPJ).
