Breaking Change wins £290,942 to build AI‑native authoring for real‑time gameplay

Breaking Change secured an Innovate UK award to develop AI‑native tools that help developers author and preview complex real‑time gameplay systems.

Breaking Change Ltd has been awarded £290,942 through the Innovate UK Growth Catalyst – Investor Partnerships Round 2 to deliver “AI‑Native Authoring for Real‑Time Gameplay Systems.” The project will research AI‑assisted authoring and in‑engine previews to help developers build and maintain interconnected gameplay systems under real‑time constraints. The project runs from 1 July 2026 to 31 December 2027, with total costs of £415,632. Work will focus on in‑engine simulation models rather than code generation alone, and the team notes the underlying techniques could be relevant to other real‑time simulation contexts such as medical device, defence simulation and energy digital twins.
