Extending the shelf life and quality of potted herbs and living salad crops will significantly reduce the level of wastage and improve sustainability in the food supply chain. In this study we will evaluate a new product concept based on retaining water within soils and composts combined with supplements that optimise the way in which plants use water from the soil.
