Octavius Hunt Ltd is currently developing a smoke generator containing a disinfectant active ingredient. This product has applications in numerous sectors including medical, agriculture, food processing and animal husbandry.The product will deliver the active ingredient in the form of "smoke", with a particle size range of 0.2 to 2.0 micron.The product works by intrinsically mixing a disinfectant with a pyrotechnic composition. Upon ignition the heat volatilises the active ingredient, and the combustion gases drive off the active ingredient, delivering it in the form of a condensate aerosolThe advantage of the product is, smoke can penetrate all nooks & crannies, inaccessible areas that conventional treatments can not reach.There is no need for specialised equipment, i.e. nebulisers, this is a stand alone product.There is no need for specialist training, the operator lights the product in the treatment area, seals, then returns a minimum of 4 hours later.
