This project aims to develop a robust application of existing metadata to enable the linkage of body and clothing XML with production descriptors to already standardised e-business transactional mark up languages. The project innovation will be to connect product image and style preference content management requirements with personal size and fit data through software and user applications to enable consumers to search and purchase clothing in multichannel environments. An important aspect of the research will be to collate and test consumer experiences and discover which embedded elements are relevant, viable, non-prejudicial to the interests of the manufacturer or retailer, and entertaining or serendipitous for the customer. Our intention is to make it easier for customers to make more informed and inspired choices in a trusted environment (both online and in store). At the same time the exercise is intended to reveal opportunities for the suppliers through data analysis, to make more dynamic relationships with consumers.
