The IMPACTT project will study the immune profiles of 3,000 patients infected with SARS-CoV-2 in order to understand our immune responses to the virus.
This project will generate five outputs:
1. Looking into patient immune profiles to better understand why some patients have very mild symptoms, yet other have severe reactions that result in ventilations and even loss of life
2. Generation of a panel of immune related biomarkers that are predictive of severity of disease response, including adverse events
3. Identification of novel therapeutic targets
4. Publicly available database of the immune profiles of 3,000 patients.
5. Creation of a biorepository of 3,000 patient samples to support further research into the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
This Resilience fund project supports Oncimmune in preventing delays to the project and allowing additional resources to cover the increased costs caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
