Scanning Pens Ltd (Scanning Pens) is a UK education technology SME with a core project team of Toby Sutton, project lead, Carolynn Helps, inclusion/diversity lead, James Green, UX/UI lead, Julia Clouter, education lead and Leigh Darby, technical lead. Scanning Pens is solving a significant unmet need with its portable device that will enable users with learning disabilities to read text while analysing their progress. Scanning Pens' solution involves best-of-breed technology, such as touchscreen, speech to text and dictionaries. Scanning Pens aims to deliver a prototype that will trial components for longevity, accuracy and speed.
