Flowstone specialises in refurbishing & re-surfacing industrial concrete floors. We prepare old concrete floors, re-screed, paint & seal. Preparation is key & we use a machine that mechanically fires hardened steel balls at the concrete surface. This breaks up weak crumbling surfaces, textures the surface and exposes fresh concrete for improved adhesion. This complex mechanical system is expensive, prone to high wear, breakdown & requires considerable power. Balls are mechanically recovered, separated from the concrete dust and re-circulated to the firing mechanism. Our idea would enable us to develop a system that is simpler, cheaper, have much lower wear, and would be ‘tuneable’ to the surface being prepared to optimise preparation.
