This project builds on the TSB metadata project, ‘Fashioning Metadata Production Tools’ (FMPT) which proved the concept that there was potential for non proprietary metadata capture based digital tools to close the gap between a leading artisan high end tailoring company’s traditional manufacturing processes and a technologically innovative tailor who produces garments with an entirely digital process but is forced to use an overseas proprietary system to produce his garments. The project team have come together in an effort to develop and harness the potential of creating a frictionless commerce environment in the manufacturing side of the fashion and textiles sector and this application is the second stage of development on a path that both parties are committed to, which has several areas of innovation around the main objectives - to catalyse the use of digital technology within the sector, drive new revenue streams and innovation in manufacturing, retail, consumer experience and ultimately develop new digital tools to enhance interoperability at all levels of the value chain.

• The project number: o 101037 • The project title: o Fashioning Efficient Metadata Production Tools • The project description: o This project aims to develop a robust mechanism to support the association of existing metadata to new tools to link production and clothing XML with production descriptors to enhance the impact of digital capabilities of the fashion supply chain. The project will connect individual requirements with middleware and toolkits to enable easy capture of a wealth of production process detail for the manufacture, sale and distribution of clothing. It will also reveal opportunities for the manufacture and production through data analysis to release efficiency in the supply chain. • The project participants o UAL o Lutwyche/Cheshire Bespoke o Tailor Made London o Keyboard Interactive • The amount of grant offered to each participant. o UAL- £144,920 o Lutwyche/Cheshire Bespoke- £52,750 o Tailor Made London- £39,450 o Keyboard Interactive- £52,720
