Albatross currently provide the national patient cost benchmarking facility to the NHS. This facility is currently used by 49 NHS Trusts and we are keen to offer some clinical coding analysis in our next suite of analytical dashboards. However, this is not an area of expertise for us and will require additional research and development.We wish to create/develop an algorithm in our dashboards which will interrogate the database which will allow our members to identify areas of incorrect clinical coding and provide a method by which it can be improved. This is extremely important because NHS Trusts lose out on millions of pounds worth of lost income because patient activity was incorrectly coded. If we can help them improve their coding we will help ensure that Trusts are correctly reimbursed for the work they undertake.
