Public Funding for Stacking Systems LTD.

The objective of this project is to design, develop, test and demonstrate a prototype mobile pallet collator for the high speed collation of empty pallets into stacks. The need for the collator is market driven relating to manual handling health and safety concerns and operational efficiency of logistics distribution centres and hypermarkets. There is no other similar solution available to the market currently. Market analysis to date has indicated a potential market size of circa 18,700 units associated with grocery retail sector in the UK alone, with significant further potential in other UK sectors and across the EU. The project will build on the considerable technical research undertaken to date by Stacking Systems Limited into the collator concept. This activity will be undertaken together with obtaining IP protection on the collator, and the determination of larger scale production and assembly options. The project will review further downstream product variants and additional on-board facilities.
