Crop nutrition is an integral part of plant health. The way that nutrients are taken up by plants has been misrepresented by the industry and little research has been performed on understanding uptake at the intracellular level. Several formulations using existing and new components have been prepared and tested for their efficacy. Results have shown that in combination with balanced nutrient applications enhance the uptake by plants resulting in an increased yield. The project aims to characterise these formulations in detail for fine tuning and increase our understanding of the mode of actions. This will allow appropriate placing in the market place to enhance crop nutrition for yield benefits.
