Public Funding for Forum Packaging Limited

Set up in 2011, Forum Packaging is a leading UK paper bag supplier and manufacturer with over 50 years in the industry, collaborating with Sustainable Packaging Products Ltd-(SPP), experts in the development and supply of sustainable packaging materials. Both companies have previously worked together on various projects including barrier papers for corrugate and laminated packaging materials and have a team of experienced and capable members to successfully deliver this _Industrial Research_ project. This 18-month project will see the development of a fully recyclable, biodegradable paper-based packaging solution as an alternative to single-use plastic items. Up to 50% of the 380million tonnes of plastic that is produced each year, is for single use. This project will contribute to the reduction in single-use plastics, eliminating the need for any plastic in sandwich/food tray packaging. These outputs will align with current Government strategies such as England's Resources and Waste Strategy and the UK's Extended Producer Responsibility. No other company in the UK is offering the packaging solutions that will be developed in this project. If successful, our products have the ability to shape the packaging industry throughout the world, addressing the environmental crisis head-on.
