OurGameLtd is a UK-based sports medicine SME with a core project team of Francis Duku (Semi-Professional Footballer and Entrepreneur), Rebecca Hughes (Project Analyst), Dean Forbes (Investor/Advisor) and Dave McQueen (Management Consultant). Many football fans would be surprised to discover that clubs well-known to them do not offer insurance sufficient to protect their players if they suffer serious sports-related injury. As shorter contracts become increasingly commonplace and the combined challenges of COVID-19, economic recession and the cost-of-living crisis bring clubs to crisis point, the risks that serious injuries pose to non-League and semi-professional footballers are becoming greater. NHS waiting lists for operations on, e.g. anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments can be very long; without help during the rehabilitation process, promising football careers come to premature, preventable ends. This is a major and growing issue at the lower levels of the adult football pyramid. OurGameLtd is developing an AI platform that ingests high volumes of data to identify and reduce the occurrence of football injuries. It further offers prevention and treatment strategies to players and trainers and -- where injury does occur -- provides users access to a complete infrastructure of care, insurers and ancillary support. Squeezed and de-prioritised from all sides, amateur footballers and aspiring pros alike will no longer have to base their contingency planning on blind hope (i.e. that they will not be injured; that injuries happen to other people). OurGameLtd's platform will be the first of its kind to prioritise scalability and affordability in its design, technology and distribution.
