The Apiceutical Research Centre (ARC) will research, inform, educate and promote the twin concepts of: Natural Beekeeping (that is sustainable beekeeping which restores the natural balance and integrity of the Honey Bee [Apis mellifera] enabling it to recover from decades of overexploitation) and Apiceuticals: that is sustainable, evidence based medicines from the beehive including: honey, propolis, bee venom, royal jelly, wax and beebread.ARC requires support from academics to provide formulation expertise to enable apiceutical products to be developed using sustainable beekeeping practices. The academics will also inform the development of the laboratory research facility and the experimental equipment manufacturing facility at ARC. Networks and market research strategies provided by the academics will also enable adoption of the apiceuticals into the general public.
