Local Treasures believes that work is good for you, especially as you age. Work keeps you fit and healthy, financially independent and socially included. As people get older, the way they want to work changes. For a wide variety of reasons, such as caring responsibilities, health and hobbies they demand more flexibility. Most work opportunities do not allow complete flexibility, which means many older adults leave the workplace for good in their 50s and 60\. Local Treasures exists to provide completely flexible work opportunities for the over 50s, doing gardening, cleaning, handymen services, companionship, dog walking and more. The jobs are accepted by the worker via our proprietary automated matching platform. Local Treasures operates in towns across Hampshire. Over the past few years, we have been building a toolkit to launch and operate Local Treasures from anywhere in the UK. The toolkit encompasses a fully automated matching platform, a digital and local marketing programme and a customer support and benefits programme. There is one final tool outstanding to complete the toolkit: \* worker support and benefit programme. This Innovate UK project allows us to **Complete the toolkit** by developing technical innovation for the final tool. It can be split into two parts: 1\. Ambassador support Stage 1 - completed \* A blend of tech innovation with real, in-person support in each town Stage 2 - In progress The success of the Ambassador element has been critical in developing the business plan to launch Local Treasures as a franchise operation. To do this, we will create an interactive web portal to onboard and develop franchisees as we launch town by town. 2\. Job security \* Technical solution to incentivise longer term bookings and to provide an e-commerce solution to the business as it scales. The franchisee interactive web portal is an extension of the project following on from the success of Stage 1 of the Ambassador programme. It is the final tool in the tool kit required to enable Local Treasures to launch and operate town by town across the UK. We will launch into new towns across the UK for the duration of this project and in doing so, will provide 225 older adults with flexible, local work opportunities. Future scaling **Completing the toolkit** project, will ensure we have a tried and tested toolkit to launch Local Treasures using a franchise network and will enable us to scale town by town across the UK and to provide thousands more older workers with access to flexible work.

Local Treasures exists to enable older workers to maintain work in later life. It is an automated marching platform which connects customers looking for help with home chores, with a local, skilled workforce of over 50s. As part of our quest to enable people to maintain work in later life, we want to build "Totally Tailored Technology" (3T). 3T will be a stand-alone piece of software which will be integrated into the existing Local Treasures platform to encourage older workers to keep working for longer. 3T will allow older workers to access work opportunities in a way that is individually designed by them, that they feel completely comfortable with. 3T is based on the insight that, everyone uses technology in very different ways. As people get older they quickly give up on technology that does not work for them. Within the target audience of the supply side of Local Treasures - our workers who are all over 50 - the digital capabilities vary widely. Our challenge is that, if everyone in our target group has a very personal approach to different digital channels, how can we use technology to find thousands of older people work, in ways that suit them all? 3T is a revolutionary way in which older people can tailor the way they manage their skills, their jobs, their timesheets, their payments and their rewards. 3T will be designed by each individual to use the technology which they feel most comfortable with to perform certain tasks. They can choose to use email, SMS, an App, telephone, Zoom, social media, web pages or a chat function for all of the different stages in Local Treasures. By allowing each worker to design how they access job opportunities, will mean that technology really is an enabler, rather than a barrier, to keep people working for longer. 3T will be created using a digital interface which allows workers to fully customise how they engage with Local Treasures to find work. The preferences chosen using the 3T interface will be integrated and saved into the existing Local Treasures matching panel. 3T will encourage thousands more older workers to find work easily through Local Treasures.

Collaborative R&D
Local Treasures, the AI job matching platform for the over 50s, has adapted its innovative vetting and matching technology to automatically recruit a local, vetted and skilled workforce for the thousands of jobs required due to Coronavirus. On one side of their platform, they will rapidly recruit, vet and onboard people who need work and who can offer skills to local businesses. Focusing on the over 50s, Local Treasures will offer job opportunities to a demographic which has been exponentially affected by the pandemic, both in terms of high rates of redundancies and reduced potential to find new work. To begin with, Local Treasures will focus on helping to kick start the local economy of one town which has been adversely affected by a downturn in job availability because of Covid 19. On the other side of their platform, they will adapt their technology to encourage corporate businesses to retain the experience and skills of older workers for longer through providing flexible, relevant job opportunities. Through the insights gained from the initial stages of the project, Local Treasures wants to adapt and build on its technology further to develop one platform for all flexible work opportunities for the over 50s, whether they are from large corporates, local SMEs or private homes requiring home services. The end result will be a blend of flexible, frictionless, relevant work opportunities sent directly to older workers.

To transfer and embed a new capability for the development and integration of enhanced data management technologies and intelligent voice data processing systems into the existing Artificial Intelligence platform, to enable more rapid business expansion and job/wealth creation.
