Several substrates have been developed to reduce peat used in growing media. Many of these bring their own issues. The 100% biodegradable foam based on a unique polymer is offering properties similar to peat with excellent water holding capacity. This is particularly important for seedling plant cells. The current projects aims at evaluating the potential to load beneficial microbes such as bacteria, fungi and phage to improve crop growth.
