On average 2% of all yarn purchased for commercial knitting by UK knitwear manufacturers is written off as wastage, in addition an average fancy yarn spinner holds around 2 tonnes of dead-stock yarn. Currently UK knitwear manufacturers have not invested in developing any process that will allow this yarn to be knitted on a commercial scale. Our innovation commercialise the usage of dead-stock yarn by creating a prototyping and small/medium scale production facility in the UK that gives designers and brands the opportunity to manufacture well designed, high quality knitwear from dead-stock.
