Current V2X models offer a challenging business case. Upfront cost of hardware is high which makes financial returns in attractive timeframes challenging. The variety of use cases and models is difficult for customers to assess for their own circumstances. There is an opportunity to simplify this for end users in the domestic market. For success in V2Home, the market needs a cost-effective route to hardware (Scirius 2021) with an effective whole-home optimisation platform. LeasyV2H seeks to address these challenges with a unique business model, tailored to the specific home use case, created through intelligent optimisation and bespoke packages for customers based on data insights. LeasyV2H minimises the players in the value chain, maximising the benefits for end customers. It optimises their whole home energy system beyond the current state-of-the-art. It builds on a successful InnovateUK funded feasibility study. There is excellent market potential for the consortium alongside attractive savings for customers, making it an attractive proposition.

Collaborative R&D
In Home & Roam (H&R), EV engagement and gamification software experts GenGame propose to integrate their customer engagement solution with Paua's public roaming 'EV fuel card', Evergreen Smart Power's home charging optimisation platform and GEUK's customer billing platforms to deliver a solution which simplified the EV charging and payment experience. It will include a 'friends and family' option to enable payment for charging at home chargers of a defined group to add flexibility to charging options, particularly for those without off-street parking. It will create a 'one-stop-shop' for all a driver's charging needs.
