An Urban Ecosystem Assessment Tool for Businesses and Local Authorities. This Innovate UK funded project responds to a conclusion from the Natural Capital Summit held at the British Library in November 2014(1), that a tool is needed to support Businesses and Local Authorities in the assessment of Ecosystem Services. The project brings together a consortium of researchers, software developers, data holders, businesses and local authorities to develop a spatial Decision Support Tool, supported by integrated and robust data, for identifying risks and opportunities associated with development of various types in UK cities. The project is initially focused on Edinburgh, Liverpool, Brighton and London and may have application to cities throughout Europe. Three and half planets; the number of planets required if everyone consumed the same level of resources as the city of Brighton & Hove. The city council and its partners have committed to making Brighton & Hove a one planet super city. It is a trailblazing initiative. A One Planet Super City is only achievable with a coherent intergration of systems where the aims and objectives of raising propserity and social well being is balanced with management of the environment and economic growth. All overseen by a governance and engagement system that facilities collaboration and co-production for the goal of a one planet city.
