TOMI, short for 'transforming ownership in the music industry', is a game-changing new way of funding recordings, leveraging advanced digital technologies including blockchain. Our logo is inspired by the fast-forward symbol because we want to fast-forward the relationship between artist and fans, and fast-forward the music industry into a new era of ownership. Our technology will allow fans to fund the recordings of their favourite artists, and in return, they can share in the value of what they've helped to create. This resolves key issues for music creators, who have historically been subject to exploitative record deals, which recently triggered a UK Government inquiry. Lead by an experienced interdisciplinary project team comprising technology experts and music industry leaders, the innovation enables artists to earn a better living, control how their music is used and avoid assigning rights away in perpetuity.
