The Sonata board, which is an output of the Sunburst project, has been used by many different types and sizes of organisations for experimenting with CHERI and CHERIoT.
The Sunburst-Chip will be largely based on the Sonata design. As a commercial tape-out there will be some proprietary elements but to as large an extent as possible lowRISC will commit an open-source top level design that will be verified - with the dashboards published publicly.
