The Synced iOS, Android and web apps enable users to leave virtual marks in real world locations. These marks are displayed to other app users as they approach the location. This marking mechanism results in a crowdsourced geospatial dataset made of annotations about a location. The Neighbourhood Safety Index project will investigate extending Synced to use the crowdsourced data to generate the first integrated live score of how safe a neighbourhood is.
