The Vision for our company is to develop new innovations that can provide a contribution to the global fight against climate change.
One of the innovations Heptron have been developing is an energy storage system which is based on composite flywheels.
Our flywheels levitate on dynamic magnetic fields and rotate within a vacuum chamber.
The UK patent office spent twelve months carrying out international searches before granting our patents. We therefore believe that this innovation has never been developed anywhere in the world before now. The development of this innovation will be another first for the UK.
We are developing our flywheels at different scales our ultimate aim is to build very large flywheel from which will provide the ability to store very large amounts of power very quickly.
This project is focused on our smallest version of our flywheel which has been designed for use in domestic dwellings. The flywheel will be installed on a new domestic property where construction has already begun.
The main aim of the project is to obtain MCS Product Certification for the domestic version of our new flywheel energy storage system.

The business of the company is to carryout research and development of renewable energy innovations and then licenses others to manufacture and distribute our innovations within specific territories.
The aim of this project is to establish a high-speed observation facility to monitor and record the normal operation of a new form of composite flywheel. The facility will also be used to observe and record the flywheels as they are tested to destruction.
This facility will provide our company with valuable knowledge as different composite materials are formed in to different shapes and as they are tested to and beyond their structural limits as centrifugal forces are applied. The ability to validate our computer models with real slow-motion video may provide new and unforeseen details.
Patents have been granted for this new innovation and the construction, operation and testing of this specific innovation has never been done before. This project is a first for the UK and will provide valuable knowledge, which we know, will help the company as it grows and develops new and improved versions of our energy storage innovations.
This project will speed up the development of a new form of energy storage, which will in turn provide another tool in the global fight against climate change.
