Visualskies is a UK-based entertainment SME led by a core project team of Joseph Steel (project lead), Ross Dannmayr (commercial lead) and William Jackson (technical lead).
The UK's film and TV industry is encountering a significant economic market failure. The high costs of production, especially with virtual content, means production companies are frequently making use of overseas post-production editing services. Finding a solution is vital to the UK's competitiveness and will support the UK's film and production sector. Visualskies is looking to develop and deliver a software/hardware solution which allows users to live-augment virtual elements with camera feeds anywhere in the world. The solution is seeking to provide unrestricted access to virtual content - currently limited to large cities with virtual production studios. Visualskies' approach will be the first to allow virtual elements and 3D data to interact live from anywhere - delivering final pixel quality without the need for greenscreens or tracking markers. The solution seeks to reduce the requirement for post-production editing and reshoots.
