"British Museums, Libraries and Galleries (MLG) are unique assets attracting millions of visitors and contributing £1.5bn a year to the economy. There are over 2500 museums in the UK; collectively, they turn-over nearly £900m/year. However, the sector is facing significant challenges, such as: * Reduction in funding * Increased expectation of ""free"" services for formal and informal education * Rapid changes in technology * Reduction in qualified staff to cope with visitor demands and collections eLearning Studios, Facesoft and Emteq propose to build an immersive platform using beyond state-of-the-art technology, offering a solution that allows the MLG sector to: 1. Focus on key services whilst staying up to date with the latest immersive technologies at a low cost 2. Quickly and easily make VR content 3. Allow visitors to have a more engaging and immersive experience. Together, we aim to create an immersive platform to enable more rapid, streamlined creation of engaging and immersive VR content. Our project closely aligns with the government's Industrial Strategy to bring UK PLC to the forefront of technology, enhance competitiveness and productivity."
