Previous work with our friendly and expressive robots has been universally popular with audiences of all ages and genders, bringing joy to hundreds of people at various events in the UK. Inspired by overwhelming positive public feedback, and building on our technical and artistic experience we are developing our Crawlybot Evolution to enhance our robot family further. This project will pursue a number of technical and creative innovations to provide more ambitious, higher value, robotic performances and commissions, combining dance, music, theatrics and storytelling. We will research innovative sensor technology and develop software to increase the robots abilities to react convincingly with audiences and invite empathetic interactions, allowing us to expand our markets and audiences, while growing our creative team. Our ethos of sharing our enthusiasm for positive use of technology, sustainable materials and power systems, the joys and benefits of learning through play, and the ability of robots to appeal to a wide range of people with diverse needs and abilities, proves an appealing offer to commissions for a wide range of markets such as Art and Music festivals, Academic workshops and outreach, also entertainments such as gaming and immersive exhibitions.
