Energy Efficiency and Interoperability in Open RAN. The disaggregation of the open radio access network (RAN) will require greater degree of adaptability, functionality, and energy efficiency. Given that the RAN accounts for a significant fraction of energy consumption in mobile networks, it is critical to understand the influence on power utilization in particular to decrease costs and promote sustainability. This project involves development of novel energy efficient scheme to cut down communication related energy of open RAN fronthaul, especially Radio unit, by taking in to account the Open RAN constraints, such as interoperability, disaggregation and compliance.
