ChapARone: No-code Augmented Reality CMS with location-based WebAR/AR for Stations
ChapARone is an end-to-end Augmented Reality accessibility tool, to help disabled passengers when travelling by train. It starts with a user-friendly no-code Content Management Platform which means station staff can upload and control information, all around the station, at the click of a button. And it ends with the passenger getting information all over the station. So now, you don't have to watch the Information board to check for delays or changes to platforms -- all that information will be available by accessing a web of multiple AR-points, and Accessible QR codes, in every part of the station.
It's designed to improve accessibility for people with disabilities, but it'll make travel more convenient, more pleasurable for everyone. Passengers will be able to access AR moments station-wide, on their own smartphones, to trigger location-relevant information, fun activities and way-finding facilitation. The AR might be pop-up texts, videos, infographics, or even a companion avatar, to mediate the rail-journey for you, give information, or even interact with fun stories.
And the brilliant and unique thing is that station staff can change any of this AR content easily, in near-real-time, thanks to our proprietary AR Content-Management-System. This system gives clients control - think of it like a no-code solution for AR.
Creating and changing the AR content couldn't be easier. It's web-based -- using all major browsers. It's really intuitive - Content can be updated by anyone, needing no technical ability. It's no harder than filling in boxes and copy-and-pasting links.
So stations can turn their own data-sets, or any non-AR information, into AR-content to make travel for disabled people less stressful and more enjoyable.
For instance, station staff could use the system to add AR content about:
1. Platforms -- way-finding graphical layouts of the platforms, which are visually engaging,
2. Trains -- passengers can engage with layout, seating, facilities etc
3. Time-tables -- can be updated
4. Delays -- notifications with live delay information.
5. Hospitality information -- where to locate refreshments, toilets, help desks, meeting points, lifts etc.
This project won't just benefit disabled passengers, it will bring financial stability and added revenue to the railway industry, bringing many more passengers back to train travel, through improved customer experience. And it will empower station staff to communicate easily with their passengers. Now Augmented Reality can support disabled passengers, and indeed all passengers, to make travel so much easier and more enjoyable.
AR-Domes
Imagine If you could enjoy filmic stories, documentary information and entertainment, not in cinemas, but in a park, a school playground, a town square.
Imagine if the images and sounds were all around you, and you could interact with 3D characters, or information, bringing imaginary worlds to life.
Or imagine if you could visit an art gallery, not in bricks-and-mortar buildings, but anywhere - in a football field, shopping malls, your own garden.
AR-Domes will allow you to find and enter iconic buildings in unusual places - you just hold up your smartphone or ipad, and the 3D building entrance will appear magically before you. They will be virtual spaces overlaid on reality. So you can be in the real world, with your friends and family, being able to see the physical world around you, but then a building will appear before you on your phone, overlaid on reality, with enticing images inside, inviting you into this virtual building. When you enter that building, using your mobile devices, you will be immersed inside a world of mesmerising sights and sounds. Think of it like a virtual gallery, or cinema, or 3D interactive billboard. You will be able to activate and interact with amazing images, 3D characters, films, music, which you trigger to happen all around you.
The really revolutionary thing about AR-Domes, though, is that you can also create and curate your own AR content and place it in an AR-Dome, to be located wherever you want. We've developed an easy-to-use, intuitive, desktop Customer Management System. This means that anyone, even if they don't have any technical abilities, can curate their own AR material. You can place your creative, educational, or informational material anywhere you want in the real world. Of course there are health and safety considerations with placement of AR-Domes, but we have programmed the experience so that it won't allow placement anywhere dangerous; and we give complete support and training to anyone wanting to develop a series of AR-Domes so that they can do so safely.
AR-Domes is affordable, repeatable, changeable, scalable, accessible and non-disruptive.
Now anyone can become a creator in the metaverse!
Maritime AR- Designing a Augmented Reality Maritime Content Platform
"MaritimeAR is 3 month design foundations industrial research project between Immersive StoryLab, Meyouandus, LJMU and Maritime Industry stakeholders. Together they will create the foundations and underpinning focuses for a new human-centred augmented reality software platform and system aimed at the maritime sector.
This project will enable a design-based, and human-centred, discovery of customer and stakeholder needs in developing such a proposition for the maritime sector, which will be engaging with wide network of Maritime expertise and stakeholders."
