* For UK construction businesses, breaching health and safety regulations is a criminal offence. Businesses have a legal duty to ensure the work environment on construction sites is safe for employees, subcontractors and the wider public. * The administrative requirements to manage an engineer's accreditations are large, especially for construction businesses with lots of employees and subcontractors. We've found it's common for one of an engineer's many accreditations to expire without them (or their employer) even realising - thus becoming uncompliant and dangerous to work. * Certifi (https://app.certifi.it) is an existing web platform for businesses to manage their field team's accreditations and compliance. * Our project proposal is to utilise AI to improve Certifi's existing certificate management functionality. The project would design and build a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) to **automate admin workflow**, **reduce fraud** and educate on **safety best practices**; ultimately creating **safer working conditions** on construction sites**.**
