Conventional natural gas is broadly used in electricity generation, industrial applications, and transportation. It may be substituted by RNG (Renewable Natural Gas) that is also known by the name of Biomethane. Considered a Sustainable Natural Gas, pipeline-quality RNG is the result of processed Biogas. Biogas is obtained from the transformation of organic matter. In that sense, RNG starts from biogas production, a gas that will be further purified to RNG from its original (mainly methane) composition. Our proposed feasibility study will try to increase the concentration of Methane produced by the Microbial Community in biogas generation. We believe that this could impact the economics of RNG production . If we achieve our objective, an innovation like this one could increase the sustainability status of the whole Natural Gas industry, allowing fast commercialization of our patented product. This work will be developed by CorNatural, a company that was incorporated in the UK to engineer cell factories and produce different compounds through a proprietary technology platform that combines several techniques. in partnership with the Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association (Adba) that aims to facilitate the anaerobic digestion (AD) industry's growth in the UK. CorNatural is motivated to help in environmental issues moving the society to adapt to a Bioeconomy future. We are specialized in synthetic biology and bioengineering that uses microorganisms or microbial communities in the synthesis of natural products. The proposed work intends to understand the impact of Methane enhancement synthesis on biogas production at the Microbial Community level. The UK Conventional Natural Gas Industry needs RNG to grow. Only a third of the Natural Gas consumed in the UK is produced here. If we increase the local availability of indigenous RNG, we will be able to help in the fight against global warming through the growth of renewable resources usage by the country.
