Health is our most valuable asset, and taking control of our health data can make a huge difference to our health outcomes. However, our medical records (or health data) are scattered among the clinics and hospitals we visited during our lifetime, and as a result, our medical history is often incomplete when we attend a medical appointment, which can result in late diagnosis and poor treatment choices. At the same time, every year, thousands of innovative new treatments are being studied in clinical trials where patients can safely use them as treatment options. However, most people aren't aware of this or don't know how to get involved, and medical doctors often don't know of all the clinical trial options available and the best way to refer patients. In addition, over 80% of clinical trials experience delays due to the lack of participants, delaying the arrival of innovative drugs to everybody else.
We, Clinical Net, through this 5-months project, aim to develop, validate and commercialise an AI-enabled health data and patient recruitment platform that will allow anybody to automatically gather and structure their medical records (health data), currently scattered among multiple GP practices, clinics and hospitals. The structured medical records will be securely kept and readily available in the Clinical Net platform, from where the users will be able to use them to self-drive healthcare by (i) combining them with the clinical trial matching and connecting tool to find the most suitable clinical trial for them, (ii) monitoring their healthcare data over the years, and/or (iii) easily sharing their full medical record history during their medical appointments allowing a faster and better diagnosis and treatment decisions.
