The COVID-19 pandemic has placed unprecedented pressure on the hospitality industry resulting in the closure of many establishments. Customers are more mindful of social distancing and hygiene whilst venues struggle to deliver their services in a cost-effective manner, with customer safety and government regulations in mind. This Innovate UK funded project aims to carry out industrial research and development to support the development of an innovative mobile order and payments solution which will allow customers to safely view a menu, order and pay at a hospitality venue in a manner that enables even the smallest of independent businesses to enjoy innovative best-in-class offerings. We aim to develop features that will give customers a safe and improved customer experience and restaurants a way of increasing revenue lost during these unprecedented times whilst promoting sustainability.
