A collaborative project between Algorivm (SME), Queen Mary University of London and Edinburgh Napier University that provides a cutting edge commercial product. Utilising Deep Learning methodologies and techniques for audio-to-score-alignment, automatic-polyphonic-music-transcription, and score-informed transcription for complex recordings. The output is an Artificial Intelligence system that listens and compares the user's musical performance to the original music notation. Accurate performance feedback is presented back to the user and tutor via visual and synthisised vocal feedback. This enables improved tuition and learning for musicians of all levels, from school students through to university or conservatoire and beyond into professional performance.
Learning a musical instrument improves children's academic trajectory, engagement and confidence which translates into satisfaction, a sense of achievement, and aspiration. Algorivm will capture and qualify valuable data for further research and engagement to enable future assessments and studies on the impact of educational trajectory in school aged children to demonstrate the value of learning an instrument for children, the music industry and our cultural and musical heritage.
Algorivm reduces the cost of learning an instrument and replaces substandard learning technologies to enable wider, more diverse music students and ultimately, musicians from households and communities that the current pedagogy is missing.
Initially for three instruments, Piano, Violin and Electric Guitar, Algorivm will develop commercial products for many instruments within 3 years and enable digitally enhanced mediated learning in academic institutions worldwide.
Outside of schools and official music learning establishments, Algorivm is an accessible and affordable application, delivered to students of all ages and abilities in any location with a digital connection Worldwide.
Aligning with current learning pedagogy, Algorivm works alongside current programs, adding value, improves outcomes and promotes continued engagement as well as valuable insights into music learning engagement and practice, to facilitate improved national planning and resource targeting.
