Beren Kayali is (CTO and co-founder of Deploy Tech) a mechanical engineer with an honours degree. She has double masters in Innovation Design Engineering from Imperial College London and the Royal College of Art. She was a Royal Commission 1851 scholar and graduated with merits. She received the IUK Young Innovators Award 2021-22\. Currently, aside from Deploy she is doing MicroMasters at MIT on Advanced Manufacturing to help her business as the she is the technical lead. She was introduced to robotics when she was 13 years old through the robotics club at her school. Early on she discovered her passion for using technology with design to tackle real-life problems. During her undergraduate, she mentored her former robotics team as a SIEMENS engineer and together they received the championship award in 2017 in San Francisco and were invited to the World Finals in Houston, Texas. She continued mentoring and conducting her knowledge at Imperial College as part of the Imperial Advanced Hackspace leader. She taught students aged between 8-16 for different programmes including outreach activities. She tutored undergraduate students at Imperial College Dyson School of Engineering in their electronics class. She is an official STEM ambassador and a jury member for robotics events in South Wales. At the age of 28 she has 2 granted patents. In 2020 she co-founded Deploy with Paul Mendieta. Deploy is a patented innovative product that is a sustainable, flat-packed, inflatable reinforced concrete water tank to provide increased water storage for protecting property and fighting wildfires in remote/rural areas. The mission of Deploy is to empower the rural sector to manage their water resources with innovative infrastructure solutions to create positive societal and environmental impacts. Deploy facilitates the rural sector to access water storage infrastructure by delivering an affordable and more environmentally friendly option, as well as a product designed for easy transportation and maintenance. Deploy tanks enable land/property owners to protect their property by wetting and provide a water source for firefighters.

Deploy Tech Ltd (Deploy) is a UK-based concrete product manufacturing SME with a core project team of Paul Mendieta, project and commercial lead, and Beren Kayali, technical lead. Deploy is solving a significant unmet need with its concrete water tank designed to help reduce the impact of wildfires in rural areas. The Deploy tank has many unique features. It has a built-in concrete base, can be flat-packed and is easily transportable, even by air. It can be assembled by two people and ready to use in 24 hours.
