There is growing evidence that parents are fundamental to an athlete's sporting pathway, providing the foundation from which everything else evolves and, as it is they who primarily control and influence a young athlete's environment, the quality of this backdrop is **determined by what parents themselves know**. If this setting is not conducive to athlete improvement, athletes face an uphill battle no matter how proficient their coach may be. **By enabling parents to become knowledgeable** in the areas that help athletes succeed, from nutritional requirements to better ways of supporting them through the highs and lows, a better informed parent will be actively helping their athlete towards their performance goals. As performance satisfaction invariably leads to enjoyment, these athletes will be more likely to stay in the sport longer which in turn, increases the likelihood of further success. **Currently, there is nowhere** to access information designed specifically for the parents of athletes participating in athletics in the UK. Theathleteplace seeks to revolutionise track and field athletics by providing the UK's first independent **information, guidance, and support platform created specifically for parents**, to help them help their athletes thrive. With this project, theathleteplace is filling this important gap in the athletics athlete-support market. Our platform will provide content all in one place making it easy for parents **to locate and access the relevant, and relatable information they need to support their athlete better**. Access via computer or phone app, allows content to be consumed at home or on the go. Multi-medium content featuring experts, other parents, and athletes themselves will cater for performance levels from entry to elite, implying its usefulness continues as the athlete improves. Additional free downloads and signposting help simplify the parent's role. One of the best features of the platform is that parents will also **learn how to improve the physical, mental, and emotional health of their children** as they become better athletes. Importantly, early-life improvements acquired within these health domains are likely to extend beyond sport and into an athlete's adult life which, when considering the spiralling poor health of the population, could become a significant societal benefit.
