V-Farm is an urban vertical farming and crop development company. We are developing 'living vitamins'. These are living plant based vitamin and mineral supplements. A range of crops we have developed to deliver rapid growth in our specifically designed vertical growth chambers and very high nutritional levels (example: one handful of crop gives as much vitamin C as four oranges). They are NON GM.
This is a disruptive technology - an alternative to traditional tablet application.
Growing our crops in specifically developed hardware allows production at point of use -- for the retailer it reduces food miles, food waste, packaging waste. Creates food theatre.
For the health/social care/ school community it offers a real opportunity to produce 'true 'functional food and the nutritional benefits served in shot form have far more gut uptake than tablets or powder supplements.
Aiding prevention and self-management of lifestyle diseases using personalized prescribed mixes of our crops for more personal nutritional uptake.
For the consumer it increases nutrition, reduces food waste and consumption is more beneficial to the body with less waste product passing back into waste water.
A complete dietary alternative to poorly performing synthetic supplements. Incorporated into functional foods and diet/health systems. Improving health and well-being for all. Aim to be produced in post brexit UK and exported globally.
There is currently no way of offering a concentrated form of vitamins and minerals through natural fresh plant material that has...
• guaranteeing nutritional content
• replicable time and again in any environment or location
• consumer friendly so you can take a little and not a bowl full
• fast in production so that daily doses at home can be produced
We have now developed and patented a way of delivering a defined nutritional load in a crop. We have developed 'grow chambers' that will allow these crops to be grown at point of use in homes or commercial settings and now we are finalising the development of the 'growing biscuit' that deliver the crops into the system. This grant will assist us in this final steps before launch, developing a machine that will allow mass production of growing 'buscuits' to allow scaled production plus a consultant nutritionist to advise on mixes of crop and amounts for delivering strong benefits for human health and well being and 'go to market' offerings.
