RespiRate is a non-contact breathing rate monitor that enables COPD patients to accurately manage their condition at home, lowering hospital readmissions. It is a portable solution requiring no consumables. As such it is both cost-effective and convenient, enabling rapid widespread adoption. RespiRate combines a unique configuration of Ultra-Wideband Radar, a cutting-edge presence detection technology, and a set of proprietary Machine Learning algorithms. Developed through clinical trials with Royal Papworth NHS Trust, RespiRate is an innovative and unique capability that solves the existing challenge of measuring breathing rate consistently and accurately, which today requires practitioners to measure breathing rate by eye at set intervals. Variance in breathing rate is a leading indicator in the identification and management of a wide range of diseases which results in RespiRate having a broad application across all healthcare settings and at home. Breathing rate is one of the most important and influential vital signs in identifying the risk of clinical deterioration caused by a wide range of conditions beyond COPD.
