The Project is to develop a family of distributed edge computing platforms with an Artificial Intelligence (AI) engine. The AI engine is an enabling technology for future autonomous and semi-autonomous aircraft and aircraft with Machine Learning (ML) enhanced electric/ hybrid-electric powertrains or digital safety systems. The execution of AI functions and safety critical functions simultaneously on the same computing platform, the arbitration between them and the prevention of them from interfering with each other is a unique capability within the aerospace industry. This capability will be developed during the Project.
