AI for Community Energy presents an innovative approach to locating feasible sites for low-carbon energy projects in the North East innovation cluster. Through the intelligent automation of feasibility assessments, our tool will bring down costs associated with site development and maximise information sharing. Our goal is to make accessible the development of community energy projects, the benefit of which can be lower-cost energy for local people and protection from volatile international markets. With our tool; businesses, local authorities, and communities alike, can access information on the feasibility of their local sites and buildings for low-carbon energy generation. We are first focusing on decarbonising the North East innovation clusters and we have a clear roadmap for national and international expansion.

For organisations that want to decarbonise their scope 2 emissions, my innovation is a mapping tool which provides data on optimal sites for community energy projects. This tool will assess low carbon energy potential across multiple sites. Feasibility data will be layered and visualised in a user-friendly format for organisations to use. The benefit will be greater access to information, empowering organisations to engage in and drive the energy transition. This approach will produce high quality multi-site analysis and reduce costs for organisations. I am first focusing on place-based decarbonisation in the North East of England and we have a clear road map for national and international expansion.
