Public Funding for Haze Customisation Ltd

Online sales now represent 25-30% of total UK retail (Office of National Statistics), but almost a quarter of items are returned. For larger purchases, consumers want to see and interact with what they are buying. They want to customise the shape, size, colour and materials to match their exact preferences. For this reason, some e-commerce platforms now offer product configurators, which allow consumers to see items in 3D and change features of component parts. Whilst such technology dramatically improves e-commerce conversion rates and reduces returns, building a 3D model takes days of specialist CAD engineers' time. This costs over £10,000 for each item, which is unsuitable for most SMEs selling on e-commerce sites. In this project, we want to automate the process of building a 3D model. This unique approach will make it faster and cost less for SMEs to present multiple products as 3D models. Haze will shortly launch their core 3D product configurator via Shopify and WordPress. Their longer term ambition is to revolutionise e-commerce product configurators by developing technology further after this project. They will also integrate with other platforms including BigCommerce, WIX, Salesforce and Adobe Commerce. This will drive revenues over £3m within three years.
