ViV-Wine&Spirits is a UK-based wine and spirits security SME with a core project team of David Blackburn (entrepreneur/CEO), José Luis Cortés (entrepreneur/COO), Vic Shibaiev (partner/CTO/lead developer) and Benjamin Bevan (30 years of experience in the wine trade). The global wine and spirits industry faces an existential crisis from bad actors illicitly tampering with its bottles. Compromised products can pose health risks to consumers and cause a general diminishment of brand confidence, leading to lost business and government revenue, job reductions and other negative impacts across the supply chain. ViV-Wine&Spirits is developing a platform, encrypted proprietary tagging system and app to authenticate and track bottle contents across the supply chain. ViV-Wine&Spirits' system will employ unique engineering and data encryption that strengthens its offering compared to competitors. The ViVTag will record all tampering attempts and enable consumers to immediately verify bottle status through the app. This will empower producers to certify the authenticity of products, strengthening brand confidence by up to 86%, safeguarding the livelihoods of up to 1M employees in the hospitality sector and reducing £3.2B in annual losses due to fraud. VIV-Wine&Spirits' platform will save the international wine and spirit industry a portion of the £3.2B annually in lost revenue by preventing fraudulent products. Consumers will gain confidence in products and brands due to verified safety and content. This empowers producers to certify product authenticity, increasing revenues for all supply chain steps, including producer, distributor and consumer.
