This project born out of innovation from Xiao Han's 'home-lab' and based on a patented novel approach of CO2 removal using environmentally friendly chemistry to address one of the planet's most pressing issues and help to achieve global net-zero target.
To supplement the product's capabilities, a decentralised decarbonisation ecosystem will be developed. This ecosystem will not only provide services throughout the product's lifecycle but also emphasise the importance of community involvement. It is believed that CO2 removal shouldn't solely rely on major industries or large-scale projects. Instead, every individual, every small business, should have the opportunity and platform to contribute. By making carbon capture utilisation and storage (CCUS) more accessible, eco-friendly, and decentralised, it will grow the potential to encourage a broader audience and make a significant impact, exponentially.
According to an analysis in 2022 (McKinsey), CCUS uptake needs to grow 120 times by 2050 for countries to achieve their net-zero commitments.
The state-of-the-art centralised CCUS projects or businesses, whilst effective in their scope, often suffer from a range of challenges that our initiative seeks to address. They typically require massive investments, vast infrastructural setups, and are often tethered to specific geographic locations, limiting their scalability and accessibility. Furthermore, centralised projects can sometimes disconnect communities from being active participants in the decarbonisation process, leading to reduced public engagement and awareness.
By promoting decentralised CO2 removal, it provides a more inclusive, scalable, and flexible approach. It empowers communities, businesses, and individuals to take ownership of their carbon footprint, making the process of decarbonisation more personal and tangible. This method can complement larger centralised projects, filling in gaps and ensuring a broader, more comprehensive approach to tackling global carbon emissions.
Xiao Han's commitment to this initiative is further evidenced by the personal investments made, ensuring that the project's potential is realised to its fullest. The aim is to bridge innovation, individual participation, and a deep-rooted passion for environmental conservation.
