Open RAN is a key point of the governments strategy to diversify the UK Telecoms infrastructure and support the growth of UK innovation within the industry. However, many large scale Open RAN deployments are increasingly single vendor and have failed to deliver multi vendor provision and therefore have not delivered opportunities for third party innovation within the networks. This project takes a localised focus to the deployment of muti-vendor local RAN. Within these deployments opportunities exist for use case specific innovation and third party integration. This project will enable GRYPHON to develop an initial proof of concept curbside cabinet to enable localised Open RAN based innovation. Working with larger partners the work will involve prototype design and implementation.
