The application of Gapotape effectively seals potential gaps between rigid components, such as boards and roof rafters. Its unique compressibility maintains a consistent barrier, countering thermal bypass, a phenomenon commonly induced by installation discrepancies or environmental fluctuations. Thermal bypass poses a significant challenge, compromising the integrity of insulation and leading to inefficient heat exchange within buildings. This breach in the building envelope disrupts temperature control, compelling heating systems to overwork, resulting in amplified energy consumption, elevated utility expenses, and discomfort stemming from inconsistent indoor temperatures. The consequential "performance gap" between anticipated and actual energy efficiency in buildings demands proactive measures. Recognizing the imperative to bridge this performance gap, our initiative aligns with the government's commitment to enhancing building energy performance standards. By mitigating thermal bypass through Gapotape's application, we aim to achieve harmony between designed and realized energy efficiency. Through BBA testing, Gapotape has demonstrated a transformative impact, eliminating the performance gap previously observed in insulation materials. The documented test results reveal an astounding 80% reduction in heat loss attributed to air movement and thermal inefficiencies. Our investigations into air movement's effect on thermal performance in other forms of constructions/retrofit corroborate these findings. Gapotape's unparalleled effectiveness manifests in its ability to eradicate the previously daunting 80% loss, bringing it to an exemplary 0%. These empirical insights highlight Gapotape's potential to redefine insulation standards, offering a tangible solution to bolster energy efficiency and meet stringent performance benchmarks outlined in national building regulations. Our endeavour is to advocate for Gapotape's official recognition and integration into national building standards and energy calculations.
